Cruz Elida Fuentes, 79, of Kaufman, TX went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2026. Cruz was born on May 18, 1946, to Jose Nueves Martinez de la Rosa and Maria Martinez in Palua, Coahuila, Mexico. She received a degree in Mexico and worked as a phone operator. On August 6, 1964, Cruz married Andres Fuentes and they were together for a loving 53 years before he passed away. The family moved to America in 1967 and settled in Kaufman where they have made their home since. Cruz loved her family and spent most of her time looking after them and raising them. Cruz enjoyed being an active grandmother following her grandchildren for every school and sporting event they were in. She spent time shopping and raising her chickens as well. Cruz was a faithful member of their church, Templo Samara, in Kaufman and served as missionaries in Mexico bringing clothes and food to families. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister. Her parents, Jose and Maria, husband Andres, daughter Elida Morales, and siblings: Francisco Martinez, Pedro Martinez, Raquel Flores, Rebecca Ramirez, and Nohemi Martines preceded her in the death. Those left to cherish her memory are children: Adam Fuentes and wife Mary, Raquel Baires and husband Pastor Teodoro, son-in-law Manuel Morales, Sr.; grandchildren: Laura Perez and husband Rafael, Manual Morales, Jr., Joshua Morales and wife Sandra, Jeanette Morales and husband Luis, Amie Morales, Hannah Fuentes, Amanda Fuentes, Makayla Fuentes, Teodoro Baires, Jr., Jessica Lopez and husband Marco, and Jacob Baires and wife Areli Barron; 13 great grandchildren, sister: Mara Diaz, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
