David Wayne Burleson

Born November 16,1955 to Grey and Claudine Burleson, David enjoyed hunting and digging for buried treasure with his dad and brothers. David met the love of his life, Paula, at Newman Park in 1974 and they were married on September 4, 1976. While raising their three children, David did what was necessary to provide for his family. He had a passion for racing, hunting, and collecting valuable antiques in his free time. He embraced the title of Pawpaw and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren with a twinkle in his eyes. David was a strong man who loved through his actions; he could say more with a song than he could with words. He lived his final months at Crestwood where he was loved and cared for while given the nickname Gentle Giant by staff and other patients. He left this world peacefully on September 27, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Jackie. He is survived by his brother Michael, His wife Paula, their children, Christi Benham and her husband Chris; David Burleson II and his wife Jill; Andrew Burleson and his wife Tiffany; grandchildren, Addison Phillips and her husband Mike, Hannah Tennison and her husband David; Jacob Burleson, Noah Burleson, Kamrin Burleson, Eleanor (Ellie) Burleson, Jack Burleson, and Anna Burleson. Four great grandchildren, Emma Tennison, Harper Tennison, Chandler Phillips, and Bella Phillips.
