Jacquelyn “Jackie” Ladell Jenkins, 64, from Kaufman, TX went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2024. Jackie was born on February 6, 1960, to James F. Peters and Peggy I. Evans in Dallas, TX. She grew up in the Dallas area attending schools in Mesquite and Dallas. Jackie met the love of her life, Darren in 1983. Darren, Jackie, and their children, Jimmy & Kristi moved to Washington State in 1985. Jackie would marry Darren Jenkins on November 7, 1987, in Oakville, WA and they would be together for 41 years. She attended Centralia College in Washington where she would earn her associate’s degree in 1993. Thus began her career as a legal assistant for 29 years. Jackie, Darren, Jimmy, and Kristi moved back home to Texas. They settled in Kaufman in 1996. She had a lengthy legal career with two law firms: Craig Bernstein and Associates and Banowsky & Levine. She enjoyed watching her Hallmark Christmas Movies and True Crime Documentaries. Jackie loved spending time with her family, especially around the holidays. Darren and she loved their annual travel to the Caribbean islands, as well as their yearly Labor Day Caddo Trip. She thoroughly enjoyed the cabin getaway, and relished her unique finds at the antique stores and shops in Jefferson and Caddo. Darren and Jackie did everything together, even when it involved shopping. Jackie was a generous spirit, and a faithful Believer in Christ. She often gave to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital, John Wayne Cancer Foundation, Highway 80 rescue mission and Buckner Boys Home. Her charitable nature was awe inspiring. Jackie was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Cousin. Her siblings, Janet Gibson and James “Jimmy” Peters, and grandchild Faith Pleasant Keys preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory are husband: Darren, father: James “Jim F.” Peters, mother: Peggy Morgan, children: James Jenkins, Kristi Keys, and husband Mitch, and DeAunte Wrenn; grandchildren: Gatlyn Kassidy Keys, and James Bradley Jenkins; siblings: Jerry Peters, and wife Kathie, and Jeff Peters; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
