Hazel Mae (Benedict) Coppinger, age 97, passed away on March 17, 2022. Mae was a long time resident of the Ola community located in Kaufman, Texas. Mae was born on December 7, 1924 to parents Joseph and Jessie Benedict in Seattle, Washington. Mae was one of 7 children. She married Gerald Coppinger and together had a wonderful family of their own.
Mae spent her younger years in Klamath Falls, Oregon where she graduated from Bonanza High School. After her and Gerald got married, they relocated to Greenville, Texas but soon moved around to Houston, Mesquite, Forney and then purchased some beautiful land and settled in their most recent home located in the community of Ola. Mae was a woman of faith and loved the Lord. She had served as a faithful member to many churches. In 1992 after the passing of her husband she volunteered at the Salvation Army in Kaufman for many years. In her older years she loved to work in the yard and spend time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Mae is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Gerald and her siblings, Maurice, Max, Fern, Jane, Effie and Helen.
Those left with cherished memories are her five daughters: Janie Harrell from Garland, Texas, Eileen and husband Bill Hughes from Ohio, Patty and Connie Powell from Kaufman, Texas, Barbara Coppinger from Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Linda and husband Bill from Granbury, Texas along with 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of other beloved family and friends who will miss her dearly
