Monico Tijerina, 79, of Kaufman, TX passed away on August 1, 2026. Monico was born on June 5, 1947, to Gregory and Dolores Tijerina in San Antonio, TX. He grew up in Kaufman and after serving 2 years in the Army during Vietnam, he worked with his brothers doing concrete. Monico continued to be a contractor throughout his life. On September 24, 1976, he married Pat Tijerina and they spent a loving 49 years together. He enjoyed playing baseball as a kid, taking an occasional trip to the casinos, and making his rounds, as he would call it. When he relaxed at home, he enjoyed sitting in his recliner watching westerns, and Andy Griffith shows. His most precious time was spent with his family. Monico was a beloved Husband, Father, Papa, Brother, and Uncle. His parents, Gregory and Dolores, daughter Tina Henderson, brothers Rudy and Tommy Tijerina, and sister Janie Martinez preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are wife Pat; children: Mark Tijerina and wife Melanie, Steven Gore, Sr. and wife Jodi, and Shannon Roden and husband Raymond; brothers: Louis Tijerina, Robert Tijerina and wife Regina, Roy Tijerina and wife Mittie; sisters: Ester Garcia, Eva Smith, Rebecca Dickerson and husband Kenny and Emma Whitt and husband Bob; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
