In Loving Memory of Sandy Lee (Barker) Rogers

Sandy Lee (Barker) Rogers, 82, of Scurry, Texas, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on February 4, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois; Sandy was the beloved daughter of George and Myrtle Barker. She built a life centered on faith, family, compassion, and service to others.

Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Guy "Buck" Rogers; her parents, George and Myrtle Barker; her sister, Doris Fullington; and her brother, Ricky Barker.

She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughter, Sharon Quinn; her granddaughters, Kelsey Quinn and Kaley Perry (Clint Perry); and her treasured great-grandchildren, LJ Hendricks, Kaisley Perry, and Kinsley Perry. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Will and Cindy Barker-Harmon (Gary Harmon), and her brother, Robert Barker (Mona Barker), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched.

Throughout her career, Sandy worked as a mortgage loan officer, where she enjoyed helping others achieve the dream of homeownership. Later, she found great joy caring for children in the baby room at Promiseland Learning Center, where her gentle spirit, kindness, and nurturing heart made a lasting impact on countless families.

Sandy's greatest passion was her faith. A devoted Christian, she lived each day with unwavering trust in God and found comfort in His promises. Her favorite verse, "With God all things are possible," was more than a saying—it was the foundation of her life. She shared God's love through her kindness, encouragement, and the compassion she showed everyone she met.

She found happiness in life's simple pleasures: listening to the waves at the beach, watching dolphins, spending hours working puzzles, and surrounding herself with her favorite color purple. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her family.

Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we rejoice knowing Sandy's suffering has ended and that she is now healed, at peace, and reunited with loved ones in the presence of Jesus Christ. Her legacy of faith, love, strength, and compassion will continue to live on in everyone who knew her.

In accordance with Sandy's wishes, no formal funeral or memorial service will be held. Instead, her family invites all who were blessed to know her to honor her memory by sharing a favorite story, cherished photograph, or message of how Sandy touched your life. Your words and memories will be a lasting gift to those who loved her most and a beautiful reminder of the countless lives she impacted.

For those who wish to honor Sandy's memory, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a charity that shares God's love by caring for children or families in need. The greatest tribute, however, would be to extend kindness to others, keep faith through life's challenges, and remember Sandy whenever you see the beauty of the ocean, a playful dolphin, or the color purple.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
