Thomas Gragg Dorman, affectionately known as "Poppy or Gragg," passed away on October 28, 2023, in Kaufman, Texas. He was born on July 22, 1947, in Palestine, Texas, to his parents Roger Dorman and Jo Alta (Thomas) Dorman.
Gragg had an unwavering passion for watching sports, particularly the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. Additionally, he was an avid reader who found comfort and knowledge within the pages of various books. He also spent many years dedicated to his talent to custom build homes.
Family was of utmost importance to Gragg. He cherished each moment spent with his loved ones and held them dear to his heart. Gragg is survived by his daughters Kimberly Dorman and Meagyn Wren, who will forever remember their father's warm smile and loving nature. He leaves behind a brother named Bill Dorman, accompanied by his wife Diane, as well as a sister named Nina Winkler.
Gragg also leaves behind a lasting legacy through his grandchildren: Whitney Calloway, Kolton Dorman, Randel Smith and husband Chance, Jaxen Perrin, Hannah Wren, Blaine Wren, Loryn Bratton. Their presence brought immense joy and pride to Poppy's life. His great-grandchildren Kash Smith and Kennedi Caperton added an extra sparkle to his eyes.
In addition to his immediate family members, Gragg also had numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members and friends who mourn his passing deeply. His kind-hearted nature touched the lives of many individuals throughout the years.
Gragg is preceded in death by his parents Roger and Jo Alta Dorman and daughter Melanie Franks.
A Graveside Service commemorating Graggs' life will be held on November 11, 2023, at Mount Olive Cemetery in Scurry, Texas. The service will commence at 11:00 AM, offering an opportunity for family and friends to come together and pay their respects to this extraordinary man.
Graggs’ legacy is one that will be cherished eternally. His love for his family, dedication to his craft, and passion for life will forever remain ingrained in the hearts of those who knew him. As we grieve the loss of such a remarkable individual, may we also celebrate the vibrant and fulfilling life that he led. Poppy's spirit will forever guide us as we navigate our own journeys.
