Tom (T.R.) James Reynal

Thomas James Reynal was born on January 10, 1943. He passed away on April 10, 2025. His parents were Louis Russell Reynal and Pauline Emily Janicek Reynal of the Lone Star community. Tom (TR) was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Richard Ray Reynal, Louis Frank Reynal, and Bill Reynal; his sister Pauline Rosie Kelly and brothers-in-law James Hickman and Joe Kelly.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughter Stephanie and husband Andrew and granddaughter Victoria (Tori) Firesheets of Hurst; son Stephen and wife Diana and daughters Amelia (Mia), Isabelle (Bug) and Trinity Rose (TR) Reynal of Crandall; daughter Jennifer and husband Michael Adamek of Odessa and granddaughter Aubrey and great grandson Maximus(Max) of Florida, grandsons Aldin and wife Macie with great grandson Maverick of Midland, and Austin and Makenna with great grandson Westin of Odessa, his sister Mary Margaret Bradbury of Rosser and sisters-in-law Molly Sue Bell of Scurry and Kathy Lynn and brother-in-law Tommy Haynes of Moore, Oklahoma and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was a Christian and a lover of God and family. He grew up in the farming community of Lone Star where many family members lived and lifelong friends were made. He attended the local school in Lone Star and upper grades at Kaufman. It was in Lone Star that his love for cars and racing began at the dirt track built by local community members. That love grew into drag racing and continued as a fan of national events and a competitor at Super Chevy car shows where he frequently placed first with his 1996 Chevy Impala.

In 1960 God’s providence crossed the path of a farm boy from Lone Star and a farm girl from Cottonwood and it changed their world forever. On August 10, 1962 Tom married Donna Kay Taliaferro and a life-long marriage of 62 years began. They added three darlings to their life: Stephanie Lorraine, Stephen Russell, and Jennifer Kaye and then life really began.

He worked many years at Ford Motor Company until the Dallas plant was closed. He retired from Consolidated Freightways as a Teamster in May 2000 with a great send off by family and friends.

Tom had an immeasurable love for his family. He coached soccer and was a faithful attendee at the many sporting, musical and other events involving his kids and grandkids. He loved people and could and would talk to anyone and everyone. He was accepting and people felt at ease with him. He was an avid vegetable gardener who planted big at the family farm so he could share with others. He loved to fish…neighborhood kids on Sidney Drive would gather at his house when they saw him drive in with his boat…they wanted to see his catch of the day…which included some really big catfish, bass and crappie (Donna’s favorite). He loved to hunt various species, but particularly enjoyed camping and the camaraderie of deer hunting with family and friends.

He enriched so many lives and he will be missed.
